Himalayan Salt Lick on a rope

Himalayan salt licks are mined from deposits over 550 million years old. They are rich in minerals and trace elements which give the salt licks their distinctive pink colour. These minerals, such as potassium and magnesium, together with various trace elements, are important nutrients often lacking in a horses diet. 

The licks are extremely hard, making them very weather resistant and more difficult for the horse to bite - allowing the lick last longer.
